i know that they exchange items that are clearly from p@h if you dont have the receipt as i have done it before. i would give them a call or go in a explain the situation and see how you get on. i know its not very honest but sometimes i feel that if you exaggerate the situation (feet getting trapped in bars and so on) it can help a lot more in your favour. I know that many people will disagree on that one but i feel p@h have given you wrong advice and they need to sort it. good luck

A little exaggeration won't help. Besides, if they haven't given me the wrong advise I wouldn't need to come there just to complain. Pets shop always feel like heaven to me (not to my bank account) so I guess it's going to be the first time I'm coming in with a frown...
Oh well, as long as I come out of it happy I'll be fine.

But tomorrow, I'm on a mission to make a new cage for Vinny ^_^

when you go talk to the store manager, i had a 3 week old cage returned to them for the same reason, but i went through main customer services to do it. I also had no receipt.

Good luck getting a refund let us know how it goes

I hate stores doing things like this

I once asked our local branch of P@H about them not selling any cages suitable for a syrian according to the RSPCA guidelines and was told they're just "starter cages" which is odd when no-one has ever been told this lol. I've since decided the branch doesn't exist though, so ours is exceptionally bad even for a P@H branch.

Some do sell the ferplast mary but at £60 its way cheaper to get a bin cage really
Amazingly the branch we use now when we go actually asked about the "rats" it was for and were fine when I explained it was to be a travel cage for our "russian" group. They even discussed bar spacing with us and were pleased when I told them we'd measured it and I'd checked that it'd be ok. This was in November and I have to admit its made me like that branch

Me and my OH just bought some stuff we need to make a bin cage for Vinny today. Can't get to P@H yet until Monday cause we have no car until then.
Search through town and found a 70x50 plastic tub from Ikea for £15, a string for £1, drilling tools for £20.
Gonna sort out the top cover with mesh tomorrow hopefully.

I do hope I do get money from the cage, that would be handy for buying more hammie treats and other necessities for the robos too.

Will be posting the new bin cage soon I hope! It's me and my OH first ever hammie DIY project so wish us luck :P

Thank you!
We are half done for today. Our main priority was to get Vinny off that horrible cage. So heres what it looks like so far:

Tomorrow we'll be trying to make a second floor then sort out the cover.

Does his new cage look alright?

I can't wait to finish it all At least now he's not chewing any bars so no more booboo on his nose. I remembered freaking out because I saw a tiny blood on his nose and ran to my friend who practically has a zoo house lol

Oh and less noise at night xD Though my robos seemed to have gone crazier lately!
Still need to get Vinny a wheel which I should be able to get on Monday
