It`s now called the `Alexander` cage and is under `Hamster` cages.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
haha you know whats funny? I was looking at that one as the size grabbed me but I wasnt sure you would get a wheel in, I cant visualize things at all, how much space would there be there for a wheel do you think? I might look into that for Cordelia instead of the heaven.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
That`s always the way eh? I was hoping they would reduce the price on the Barney cage a little but it`s still nearly 80 quid. The sizing for the Alexander cage should be on the website page? If it`s a senior wodent wheel you have, your right to be wary of the cage height because some cages can be shallow. The Barney is 40cm in height, so I would be okay with that.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
She dont actually have a wheel yet
I cant decide between a free standing one, a wodent, a silent spinner, a flying saucer thing etc also im confused on what size a syrian needs I guess I will have to go back on there next week when im paid and see what they have then lol. Its such a minefield deciding on cages, Neil wants Cordelia in a barred cage, im not as fussy with Bluebell so she will prob have a zoozone.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
Wheels can be just as important as choosing a cage! I want to order this Barney cage for my syrian but I`m hesitating until I have more of a think. I have a senior wodent wheel because I feel Boris needs the size. The Junior would probably do him just fine, but the Junior wheel is narrower than the senior, so Boris would`nt have the same turning space inside the junior.
I`m not a fan of flying saucers at all. They take up floor space too much I feel. I would say go with a Junior wodent wheel from the sugar glider company? This is where I purchased mine and service was great. It depends on what cage your hamster will be residing in I suppose that will determine which size of wheel you need to go for.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
Yeah I know its important she has one, I just want to make sure its the right one for her lol, there was one in her cambridge but I took it out as im not sure if it was to small, I will be glad to get her cage sorted so I can get her one to suit her. So far its the hamster heaven Neil wants but we a bigger one would be good as long as it has bars, he did see a big 3 storey rat cage but I think it was on here I was told its not suitable for a hamster, shame because it had mega room in it lol

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
I have a Leon for one of the syrians but it's quite narrow compared to other larger cages so have been toying with the idea of getting a a different one (haven't told hubby yet!!) It's good in that it has 3 floors and so far I've been lucky that none of the hamsters that have been in there have peed on the floors as they are wooden! It also has narrow bar spacing so is great for smaller animals, I had 3 robos in there at one time, and has a nice deep base, a large door on the top and 2 smaller doors on the first shelf and at the bottom. But I do feel Hugo would benefit from a different cage so have been looking at various cages and the one thing I've found is measurements are taken from the outside dimensions and there can be up to a 10cm difference between that and the internal measurements, on some tank style cages at least! But the Barney looks good, as does the Alexander, certainly worth taking a closer look at!
I have my other syrian in a rat cage that my husband made 2 extra shelves for - it came with a plastic corner shelf - so that he can't fall from the top all the way to the bottom which I think is the concern with putting a hamster in a tall rat cage, he also has a hammock at the very top. The great thing is the space as Fred has a 12" Silent Spinner and a very large wooden house in the base unit! I think so long as it is modified properly a rat cage could work for a hamster.

Re: Zooplus `Barney` cage?
The Savic Mickey 2xl is around the same size as the Barney cage and it has extra small bar spacing; Equine Canine Feline currently have it for £64.99. I'm debating getting one for my dwarfies.
