Default i dont want my male hamster to be lonely

i have 2 winter white hamsters. i think my female hamster is pregnant as i was told i had 2 males so iv kept them in the same cage. am i to put my male hamster in a seperate cage when my female gives birth? can i put the boy baby hamsters with him after they are 4 weeks old? i dont want him to be on his own as iv been told winter whites like to be with other hamsters but i dont want more babies please help. thanks

You are right to separate as the female will become pregnant again as soon as she has given birth. This is bad for her body. Your boy will not get lonely and will soon settle on his own and likely become very people friendly too. You can try him with his sons when they are taken away from mum but sometimes it does not work out and they may fight. You need to supervise closely.

yes, as souffle says, you must separate BEFORE she has the babies or she will get pregnant again straight away. You can put the boy with dad at 4 weeks. sometimes they will fight and need separating and sometimes not. Your best chance at keeping them together is to have a nice big, flat cage without tubes or small houses and make sure there's a wheel each. Girls can stay with mum (same thing with the cage)
