You all have to bring Sweep and Larry-Jasper too as that is the only key to open my doors

Such a beautiful litter. However, I am partial to mom. If you decide to retire her i may just have to make room in my retirement home for her hehe.

Gorgeous litter So sorry about the pups that didn't make it. I fancy a trip across the pond as well. I'm sure Charlie would be up for it - he's quite a seasoned traveller now!

Erin you will be first on the list, as your retirement home is the bestest for the older Ham Hams. She is quite a chewer, and an escape experter, so unless you can make a bin chew proof she'll be one for the Tank cage. A Bottle guard is a must have with her too unless you fancy buying a bottle a week

Her cage of choice is a 20 gallon long with a old style bottle chew guard which surrounds the whole bottle leaving only the metal sipper exposed. However her personality makes all that extra work all worth it.

It would be such a joy having Little Larry-Jasper, Sweep, and Charlie here for me to have cuddles with. Charlie wouldn't find any Radiators to fuss over but I bet he would love a play about in the Kiddie pool play ground. And I have no walnut tree here but I do have a beautiful water Chestnut tree which are about as yummy as a walnut for Sweep. Little Larry could enjoy all the fun dwarfie size toys I have which never found their way out of my house once I quit breeding dwarf Hammies due to no purebred to be found.

Maybe we could hold and informal Pet class here? I'm sure Erin and Oddlyoblivious could bring their favorite Pet Hamsters to have a great turn out

Somehow I have gotten very, very lucky. I only have one female that has ever destroyed her bottle no matter what I do. Miss Ginger has a bowl for now until I can find a way to get her to stop. I did get one of those bottles that come with the bottle guard. Since she couldn't chew through it she decided it would be fun to rip it off the wall every night. No idea how she manages it but she does
I have not had an escapee ham since Cima passed. I did pet sit a gerbil for a few weeks for a friend. That little bugger somehow claimed up to the lid of his bin and when I walked into the room he was just hanging out on top of his cage. You can see from the pic he doesn't understand what all the fuss is about lol.

LOL silly little Gerbil. When I was 16 I worked at a private pet store owned and run by my Dad's best friend. That was my 1st experience in how some humans have no thoughts at all of animals. I was the small animal care taker and it was my job to come in at 6AM to clean all cages, feed, and water all small animals which was not limited to furry small animals as I also tended the lizards, snakes, and amphibians as well. When the owner and I arrived at the store one cold and blustery morning we found a card board box next to the entry door. Not realizing it had any thing in it(it was normal for people to toss trash in that area), we went in to prepare for the days customers.

When the delivery person came in he asked us why we didn't bring in the rat shipment. We said what rat shipment as we don't get just rats delivered and certainly not left outside in the cold. My boss told me to go see what the guy was talking about and when I looked I saw Gerbils, gerbils everywhere. I was amazed that they stayed right near the box which they were dumped in even thought they easily had chewed big holes in it. They also were people friendly and I easily collected 14 Older and healthy Gerbils.

We couldn't prove anything for fact but we believed they were the Gerbils some guy had demanded my boss buy of him. They all ended up coming home with me as they were far to old to sell, and we had no room for any of them even if they were younger.

Gerbils are so much fun but never ever house them in anything plastic as they will chew out o a plastic bin in a matter of minutes(as you quickly found out with this little smarty pants.
