Default Syrian Breeding Question

I am an experienced breed of Dwarf Hamsters & wanted to breed my Syrian Hamsters. I needed to find out first which types of Syrian would be ok to breed together. For example what can banded Syrians be mated with or can they be mated with another banded of a different colour? I have been reading up on this subject but all bit confusing. Would be very grateful for any help.

It is not recommended you mate two patterned hamsters such as two bands, a band and a dominant spot, a band and a roan for example as the patterns can hide if the hamster is carrying the white belly gene. If two hamsters carrying the white belly gene breed you have the chance of getting eyeless whites with other abnormalities in the litter. Other no nos are two satins and two light greys. Please be sure you can home all the pups or keep them yourself as there are so many hamsters in rescue just now with the economic climate and people being unable to afford the upkeep or buy new pets. You should know the background of the male and female and they should have excellent temperaments. The female should be between 4-7months for a first mating.
What colours were you planning to breed? depending on the parents and which recessive genes they carry the litter can be varied.

Ok Thanks Souffle. I have a Satin light Golden girl and a Black/White Banded boy. I really wanted to specialise in Goldens & Satins. But I will also take in all that you say about breeding them.I am not a mass or bad breeder but I would say a Hamster Hobbyist that just loves hamsters.

Not sure why light grays are included . They are no different then breeding two dominant spots together from known lines - therefor it's known there is no Whwh lurking. They are homozygous lethal and absorbed by mother before birth. If I'm wrong please correct me.

I was just thinking of the reduced litter sizes if they were bred PKK really. Sorry if it was misleading!
