Default Feeding baby hamsters

Hi, my dwarf hamster has had a litter of 7 they are now 8 days old unfortunetly one did not make it the other 6 look very healthy and are growing well i had a little peek whilst mum was eating. I have not touched them and have only looked at them a couple of times to make sure they are ok.

I just wondered if anyone can give me some advice on feeding them and any tips etc (as this was not a planned litter).

I know not to clean them out for a few weeks and not to disturb them, I could really do with some help about weaning when and how and also when to seperate the boys and girls etc

Thank you

I had a surprise litter myself 5 weeks ago, someone gave me this link (leedsgurl) and I found it really helpful http://www.madabouthamsters.com/forum/s ... hp?tid=814
or there is some info here http://www.hamstercentral.com/wiki/Breeding_Hamsters

Obviously that's for Syrian's but I would imagine its mostly the same..? If you have made it to day 8 things must be going well. I cleaned mine out once all their eyes were open. At that point they were all racing around the cage at speed and Mum wasn't too protective. I think even at the ages of yours the Mum takes little bits of food back to the nest and I started leaving a jam jar lid of baby porridge every morning and bits of egg chopped nuts and grated carrot from about 9 days when they started to wander out. Also make sure they have access to the water bottle.

Good luck.
