Thanks! I'm hoping she'll go into labour tomorrow evening, as opposed to during the day, since I won't be home, but it's all up to her. SO was giving her sun flower seeds this evening, and she seemed a bit restless and uncomfortable, poor lady.

Fingers and toes all crossed for a healthy litter and a healthy mumma!

She was pretty restless last night! She was chewing Fort Knox and trying to get out, but settled down after a while. She came out for some sunflower seeds this morning from SO, but then went back to bed.

On slightly related notes, my SO's brother wants to get us a "hamster cam". It's too bad we don't have one now, but I'm expecting her to go into labour this evening, as opposed to the day, as she was bred at night.

Aren't most hamsters bred at night? There have been so many daytime litters born lately it seems like, maybe Darissa will break the cycle. lol

Yep - night time is when females are receptive and in heat... usually. Of course there are exceptions, but that is generally when you breed.

But we have had quite a few day time litters, so Darissa may have one, but I am hoping for an evening one.
