Guess I felt left out...
I don't know what got into me but I fell in love with a poor little hamster who got posted on my local classifieds. The ad said she had to go tonight and I was afraid that she'd go for snake food, so I said I'd take her. When I asked why they were getting rid of her I was told it was because her "partner" had died. There was no picture so I hoped they were dwarfs but no, they're Syrians. This one is a 4 month old female and the one she was living with that died was a 3-4 year old male. I didn't see any nipples but she's huge and appears to have hip bumps. 99.9999% sure she's prego

Wow! Are you ok with raising babies? Irresponsible people. I wonder if this is her first litter.

No. No I'm not. I am a total mess when it comes to babies and pregnancy I grew up in a farming family, I've seen oodles of babies of all kinds born, yet I'm stil panic-stricken at the prospect of birth. The stress is liable to leave me curled up in a corner sucking my thumb

Re: Guess I felt left out...
Oh, as for whether this is her first litter, I've no idea. The owner wasn't home from work yet but she (or he) said that her roommate was home and would meet me. When I got to the door (horrible apartment, total dive) I was handed a tiny closed box. I had wanted to meet the hamster before I took her but I think they knew she was prego, or at least the roommate did, she just gave me a sickly smile and didn't say anything when I suggested she might be. I think they're just the sort of people who either thought that Syrians could live together and thought they had a same sex pair, or they really don't know the facts of life

You have a heart of Gold!! I'm glad you got her out of her previous satiation - I don't want to think of what could have happened if she were left with the male, and had her babies- in the same cage..
