Default Does our lady look pregnant?

My SO is wondering because of how shy and skittish she is, plus a bit of rounding around her stomach area.

We rescued her, and she was housed with other hamsters. She's probably only about 4-5 weeks old, and from what I could tell was only with other females.

That being said, she has a bit of a bottom going for her, and she's so very, very shy.

I've got a bunch of no's and a few yes's. Any other opinions? I'm going to start supplementing her food to add more protein just in case, and grab a scale (any tips on what kind of scale?). Thoughts?

Well, in that first pic of her belly I think I can see a nipple, but I'm no expert!

She definitely has nipples! I can see them when she's on her hind legs, but they're not super visible.

Hmm, it's hard too tell. If she is, it is probably early days. Keep a close eye on her over the next week and treat her as if she was, give her some high protein foods just to be on the safe side. If she is pregnant, you should know in the next week or so, as she should start to go a bit pear-shaped. Keep us updated

I will definitely do that. I was planning to get some egg white to cook up for her, some baby food and some chicken. I've also added mealworms and Harlan Tekland to her foods. I'll get a scale later, but yeah, will definitely keep you all updated!

While hamster babies WOULD be super cute, it would be a lot of stress for my wee lassie, and I imagine she'd cull a lot... plus I have no idea on genetics. It could be a brother x sister pair.

Well, really, you wouldn't need to know genetics if she's already pregnant. That would only be important if you were planning a litter. As this is unexpected you're just going to have to do what you can and hope for the best!

Hm, she doesn't look particularly pregnant to me, but I'd say with a rescue it's definitely best to do what your doing and prepare like she is, whilst hoping she's not. Sounds like you're on top of everything there though Extra sunflower seeds go down well too, or pumpkin seeds or nuts - anything high protein. Also make sure she has plenty of extra nesting material. Count 18 days from the day you got her, and if there are no pups by then you're more than likely in the clear.
Physically you wouldn't notice much until the last few days, when she'll start looking like she's carrying two ping pong balls on her hips..!
Best of luck either way, keep us updated!

Okay, perfect. My SO still thinks she is. I got some better pics on my DSLR. We have sunflower seeds so I'll pop some of those in her cage. I've been placing toilet paper that has my scent on it in her cage, so hopefully that'll give her enough.

She's been sleeping in her potty, but I think she's just stressed and confused. She likes my SO so far as he's had the most time and success coaxing her onto his hand to eat millet, which she loves (she's turned her nose up at everything else!)

Hopefully we can keep her sweetness on just her, and not a pile of babies! If we do, I suppose we'll be making some trips to get extra supplies!

I'll be leaving soon to get some foods to help supplement what we're giving her now.
