It's in no frills and loblaws but we only have target, walmart and whole foods right near us. I went with some brand at walmart.

Oh and she's 77g which isn't surprising since she is technically still a baby. Hopefully I can tell the difference between her growing weight gains vs. pregnancy weight gain.

Didn't get much of a look on her this morning, but she was up when I went to get to the bus for my lecture. She was a bit nervous, but had peed allllll over her wheel. Which is pretty typical, but at least she uses the potty during the day and the wheel in the night.

Not wriggly babies, but I plan to do a fairly thorough spot clean this Friday so that at the very least if she is expecting, the cage will be clean going forward. I'll probably vacuum out one area (she toppled over her potty and spilled sand everywhere!) but keep her nest in one piece.

Nothing yet... She does look a bit bottom heavy but I don't think it's any bigger than last week. She has started hoarding food more and making a nest. Though she went up from 77g to 84g in six days. Could be just her growing, but we will know for sure in another week

Good luck! At least you are aware it's a possibility so you can prepare just in case.

Yeah. Part of me is like "babies are so cuuuuuute!" But I know it's not in her best interest (or ours!) for her to have babies.

Yeah, I can understand that! It's one of those things where it would be irresponsible to do it on purpose without being prepared, but a cute surprise (yay!) if it wasn't intended. At least that's how I'd see it. She must be really young if she's only 84g! I hope if she does have babies, that she can handle it.

Hi Hekomi. Babies are cute. If she is pregnant she may not cull the litter at all. Even at that young age some hammies do very well at mothering. Time will tell. The best thing to do is just what you are doing...behave as if she is pregnant. Feed her well and keep track of the days. If there are no pups at day 22 of her being in your home, all well and good. I will say though, that she looks pretty stocky in her photos, so I do think it is a possibility. You are definitely right about this not being in her best interest, and no responsible hammy owner wants a surprise litter. This was the time you wanted to start taming her and having her become happily settled in her new home. But, it is what it is. I would also do a complete cage clean out and remove her sandbath until after she is past her due date with no babies, or after the pups are weaned. I don't like sand near newborns. Yet another baby watch on HC.

Thank you! I'm sure my SO will be happy to believe someone agrees with him, haha. I'm still on the fence. She's gotten much more tame (she was trying to crawl into my hands as I changed her water). I will try a full cage clean for her tomorrow and remove the sand bath. I only just put it back today as a trial.

I'll see if I can get some more pictures of how she looks today/tomorrow.

Some pics. She doesn't look too different for me, but I couldn't get her to pose super well.

She's very long though. The little purple bowl has some chicken and veggie baby food in it, lol. She likes to sit with all her feet in it!

LOL. She still looks stocky to me. What will be the clincher is if she starts getting these two bumps on the lower part of her body, near her hips. She's such a pretty little girl. .
