17 days pregnant no show
No show yet getting a bit worried she is huge with clean cage plenty water and extra nuts, sunflowers seeds to help her milk flow extra mealworms for protein but still nothing if there isn't any thing by tomorrow she will be going to the vets, this is a planed litter from my lovely girl who has won first place in ACO every time she has been shown. Is there any thing else I can do ? also has any one had a Syrian go to 18 days and all be well ?

Re: 17 days pregnant no show
I only breed robos, so have no personal experience here, but I have had my little ones go a couple of days over the 21 days gestation with no problems. Hopefully a Syrian breeder can pop up and share their experiences

Re: 17 days pregnant no show
Mine have never gotten to 18 days, so if she is definitely pregnant (as they can have phantom pregnancies) then you're doing the right thing by taking her to the vet to get check out.
Let us know how you get on.

Re: 17 days pregnant no show
Glad mum and babies are doing well. I've only ever had one girl that went to 18 days and it was a horrible worry. I gave her plenty of parsley on the 17th day to help induce labour (its a womb stimulant) and she'd had them by the morning of the 18th day. She had 6 babies, all of whom developed normally and are still doing great now (a year later). I think they sometimes just like to scare us!

Re: 17 days pregnant no show
thank you for that tip with the parsley, Yes I am sure some time they just like to work us up, anyway babies are doing well and little squeaks can be heard a fair distance from the cage.
