Looking to borrow a silver grey male, Bristol area
Hello I am trying to find someone who would be prepared to lend me a silver grey Syrian male for a week, for breeding purposes. Please let me know if you can assist.
Thanks

By using the hamster as breeding stock, albeit, temporary, I assume you want the "homozygous" version of this color, but what kind of Homozygous Silver grey do you want? Solid? Dominate spot? Banded? Satin? Longhair? Shorthair?
If I were you, I would try some reputable local breeders as their stock would be the best for breeding and showing.
I wish you all the best in your search!!

Re: Looking to borrow a silver grey male, Bristol area
Hello Hollyhamster, thanks for your message.
In fact a heterozygous animal would be preferable for my purposes.
As to coat type and pattern - I don't really mind.
I am breeding as a hobby and to supply a local pet shop - I have no intention of showing the hamsters.
I have a mink male and a golden female and was hoping that the female was carrying cream and cinnamon, but no such luck. I got golden and umbrous golden baby hamsters when I mated them.
I was hoping for a greater variety of colours. A heterozygous silver grey would at least give me heterozygous silver grey and golden offspring, and maybe more if there are any matching recessives being carried by both parents.
