Default Help with babies!!

Jaffa is in her ovo with her first litter. She has relocated them from the wheel into the little house. The thing is, she left one outside. I thought it may have stopped breathing as it wasn't moving but when I gently tapped the cage it started moving again. Jaffa popped out of her house with one of the babies attatched to her, it fell off onto the floor. She picked this one up and took it back inside leaving the other outside. I tapped the cage again and she came back out and noticed the other on the floor so picked it up and took it back inside.

The thing is, I'm now worried about leaving the cage. She is in a quiet heated room and I don't really want to disturb her. Should I just leave her alone and let nature take it's course or should I check on them once in a while? It's a bit of a dilema! I've not touched anything inside the cage and I don't plan to.

Also, she doesn't seem to be spending much time with her offspring. The setup of the cage means that there are two habitrail ovos attatched through a tube. Should I perhaps remove one so that she is living in just one Ovo and is therefore forced to stay with her litter or would this be too stressfull for her?

Thankyou all for your help, I'm about to scramble some egg for her and me lol x

I would leave the cage as it is so as not to cause much too stress to her. I'm sure as most ham mummys do, she would have come back and found the baby as if they are left for too long they normally cry quite loudly even from such a young age.
Maybe if you decide to breed again, you should rething the OVO idea, In my own opinion (so as not to cause any offence) I really don't think it is a good set-up for a mum rearing a litter to be in and it will make it harder for the babies to be handled.

Thankyou! I don't like the ovo full stop but it was the only one I had spare I've just found another litter from Biscuit who is in a zoozone, i wasn't expecting that! wow, that's 3/4 of my males were females I can't see her litter yet but I can hear them. There's bits of blood on her bedding like Jaffas! Any advice for mum or babies? Secrets of the trade?

Peace and quiet and lots of good food Katzilla and always trust the mums to do what is right. Only they can raise the babies this young. She is likely to find the lost ones but if she leaves one that looks ill I would not touch it as it is likely a weakling she has rejected if she does not take it back. It is natures way. Best of luck with your big new family I imagine female 3 is also 'with child'!!!!
