Default Mom hamster overprotective

My female blue campbells dwarf is very protective of her 9 day old babies, trying to attack me if I come near the nest. Is this normal? Iv had 2 other litters, but never with this female.

It is advised that you don't approach mum, the pups or the nest until babies eyes are open, they are out of the nest and exploring AND mum seems happy for you to do so. Of course she will be protective over her little ones, and she is seeing you as a threat.
I would suggest you leave her be with her babies for a few more days before trying to interact with either the mum or the babies. You don't want to frighten the mum into thinking you are a big threat when really you aren't, you just need to be a little more patient before trying to interact with any of them. The nest is her safe place and she knows her babies are okay in there, so don't give her any reason to think otherwise.

It is very normal for a mother hamster to want to protect her babies, even when the eyes are over but there is more chance of the mother killing her pups should you disturb her when they are very small ie 9 days old. I would just add more bedding at the other corner of the cage the mother hamster will use this if she feel she needs to. I would give new food and clean water and do nothing else.

Everyone is right. Don't go near the nest until she is comfortable with this. Just pop in the food and clean water and leave her be till the babies are out and about with eyes open. Most mums as very protective of their pups.
