They will either be white or husky, Lulah retained a lot of the grey in her undercoat as a little one, but has got whiter and whiter as she's been here.
This is the first time I've ever done any breeding not in one of my clear bottomed tubs. by the time I was sure Lulah was expecting she had her huge nest up, and I didn't want to disturb her by moving her. This means I can't peep in on what's going on, how many are surviving, whether I need to fish any out, and I can't bear it!!!! Lulah has them well tucked up, and is spending most of her time in the nest only popping out to feed, wee in the sand, have a drink and a quick groom. Baby food, egg and meal worms in suet are ensuring she's looking very good healthy. I saw a peep of babies once, counted four and thought there were more there, but it's impossible to tell really for the moment.
Daddy Billy would like it to be known that although Lulah might be raising the babies, he did help make them, and look at his massive foot Lulah gave him to make him leave her to it!!!!!!
