Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
I hope everything is fine, and i wan't aware you could even get insurance for hamsters to be fair but your vets sound absolutely wonderful. Can me and my six hammies come live you just because of the amazing vets. My current vet is lovely, and were smitten by Thor the robo on his last visit but i've never really heard of a vet taking such an active interest.

Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
My vets are amazing!! Everytime we go in they ask me about the rest of my pets especially my dog who has been with them alot as she likes to eat toys and has now had 3 major surgeries to remove things from her tummy or intestines that shouldnt be there (She is now nearly 11 so would of thought she would of grown out of that by now!) They are so good with me - they no how bad I worry about them, plus im very obsessive with every bit of information I give to the extent I have documents on each of my Hamsters of everything! when I got them, how much they drink, when foods have been changed every medication they have ever had, what treats I give, any time they behave differently, when things in the environment change, when I do cage cleanouts (Im very obsessive I've been told)! Insurance for Darcy is £10.66 a month so in the long run just saving it up every month would be better! You could come live with me but It may be a very tight squeeze! Im considering chucking out my draws to make space for the cages for the pups!

Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
Pups have arrived! I was up late checking on her and I saw one! Thought no I can't not watch now to make sure Darcy Is ok. She had another 4 around the cage - there may be more before that I didn't see before. I have put a sheet over a section of her cage to make it a bit more sheltered for her. Thankfully food and water supplies were refreshed last night so I can not bother her for a bit longer! She seamed ok, she did struggle to carry them back to the nest but she did it! I wasn't expecting them this soon! They look so tiny!

Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
That's great CharlieB, wishing Darcy & the pups well . Keep everything calm & quiet around them & I'm sure little Darcy will manage well with being a mum.
By the way, I have insurance for hamsters & guineas and I'm pretty sure that any vets bills related to breeding / birth etc are not covered, worth having a good look at the small print. Also, if you cancel after a month you will have to pay cancellation fees too.

Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
I've seen her once this morning, she came out for some water and then went back in, she looks alright. I'm off to the vets soon to get the syringes but I doubt they will be needed! Ahh ok thank you shiny I will look, to be honest I doubt I'll get it, the births went well so thats given me more confidence! As soon as I saw the first pup I rang the vets to let them no

Re: Panic! Could my Darcy be pregnant??
She seams to be drinking a lot, is that normal for a new mum? In the last 10 mins she has come out 3 times to drink :-S
