Question Too much bedding for babies?

Hi - I have a silly question.
Is it possible for a hamster to have TOO MUCH bedding if she is about to have babies?? She has managed to move, pouch, kick, scrape, shove, every bit of her bedding possible into one corner. lol Looks like a tower! Its shredded paper, shredded tissue paper. She has never made such art work before...lol Do I worry or does "mom know best"?

She knows what she's doing. All the babies will be concealed under all of that and she's just making sure it's big enough I guess. It's called "nesting" for a reason

Ok - then I wont worry or take any out. She is due tomorrow.

She did something else different today too- she always has her regular bed on the left side of the cage, opposite side of food/water. Lastnight and today she moved ALLL of that bedding to the side where the waterbottle is...she made a little hole so she just has to stick her head out and the waterbottle spout is right there! Its almost poking INSIDE the huge nest she just built! LOL

Smart mom or lazy butt?? Silly girl!

Huge nests mountain are often a sign babies are imminent, so nothing out of the ordinary there. Don't move anything yourself, unless your ham or the babies are in danger and you absolutely have no choice not to. Good luck for the birth and the babies, looking forward to hearing about them, and seeing them when they come out of the nest

She did finally downsize the 'tower' once the babies were born.
Its been 48 hours since the birthing and it seems that all 18 are still alive and kicking!!
Keeping fingers crossed!!

(for those that didnt read it on my other post, Mason's cage has a clear bottom and I having it sitting on top of a glass table....you can lay on the floor and look up and see her and the babies, at times, through the glass when she moves around/feeds them etc. The nest is not touched/disturbed at all.) I did take a photo and then zoomed in and counted heads and came up twice with 18!

She only left the nest and didnt cover it (once) when she came out for a treat yesterday, every other time she has been a good mommy and keeps them all well hidden from view from the top.

Today the little ones are 1 wk old. There are 14 out of the 18 in the nest. They all look big and healthy. One was alittle smaller but must be feeding very well because he/she is catching up in size fast! There are 6 Golden, 5 Cinnamon and the other three are creams, one black eyed and cant tell on the other two if they are black eyed also or red eyed creams because they were hiding their faces.
Mamma is gonna have her hands full when they start wandering....They are gonna drive her crazy, running and chasing them back into the nest! lol
