I'm sorry to hear about the babies. I have also always gone in with a spoon while mum is distracted at the other end of the cage. If they are a greyer colour and removed from the nest, then they will have passed on. it does make them easier to get if this is the case, and you won't disturbing the living babies. Good luck, and fingers crossed for the remaining pups.
