Hi Everyone I thought I would add on to this thread as I didn't want to start a new one unessasarily.
As you all know my female had a litter of 4 babies 3 females and one male 5 weeks 2 days ago. The male now called Benny has gone to a really lovely home to someone I know and is going to be a very spoilt little boy. The other 3 were going to a petshop this week but we couldn't do it to them.
Mum and I sat down and discussed it and after adopting Kumi we couldn't do it not knowing whether our hams would end up in an adoption pen a few weeks/months down the line because someone didn't want their hammy anymore.
The amount of unwanted hamsters I have seen through ads or other places makes me nearly cry because they are unloved and not wanted.
We know by either letting people we know have them or keeping the rest ourselves we can make sure they have a lovely life where they are loved and cared for. The babies are so friendly and are little characters.
Mum and I have decided in future we will be adopting hamsters from either pet@home or other rescue centres because there are so many out there that need homes.

Hi Sarahh - Your babies sound lovely, do you have any photos yet?
Are they all staying home with you now then, or do you have some more friends who are wanting a baby from you?

Hi Basia Thanks I must get some pics of them they have really grown now.
A lady who I used to work with her daughter had one of our hamsters about 18 months ago and was really pleased with him. They wanted another one and told them they could choose from the next litter but after all the unwanted pets and especially after today seeing that more than 7,000 pets are got rid of last year. We phoned them and offered them one of the girls and they are going to get back to us as to whether they would like one of these.
The other 2 will probably more than likely stay here with us.
