I think they're gorgeous hamsters! And I love the video of the "ninja" hamster xD
I do worry about potential health problems if a hybrid did become available :/

Er... I will opt out of getting one. As cute as they are, and as lovely as the look, I don't think I want to deal with their nasty attitude. I guess some animals just want to stay wild.

On the whole wearing animal fur. Why would anyone think its attractive to wear an animal carcass on their backs is beyond me. Well, I see it for practicality purposes, like with early man and its need to stay warm during the ice ages, but it has no purpose in modern society, ergo its pointless. Not to mention its downright sickening to think that poor animals rot inhumane traps, sometimes chewing their own legs off to gain freedom, then are thrown into urine and feces caked cages, and eventually shocked to death with an electric taser as to not leave a blemish on the coat.

Yup. Not attractive in the least.

I wouldn't be shocked if there's hybrids coming into the country soon.
If you're taking about a Syrian/European hybrid, don't worry, it's not possible

I don't even think fake fur is okay, all it does is advocate fur as a fashion, plus, it's hideous.

I've only once come across a European Hamster and it wasn't very appealing to me having a black underside. It was also pretty much vicious and wouldn't be tamed. They are also a lot bigger than Syrians so they have bigger mouths and bigger teeth and will draw blood if they bite. I'd say that anyone attempting to tame a European Hamster should use a stick initially and wear leather gloves when handling.

They are hard to come by because they are an endangered species and collecting them in the wild is prohibited by European directives. Due to their difficulty in breeding in captivity are not generally available from breeders and pet shops. But due to the difficulty in taming and their life-span up to 8 years want ads might be productive as existing owners might be selling.

All things considered I'd say that anyone wanting a longer-lived rodent would be better considering a pair of Degus.
