Poor things, but they'll get used to the separation and I'm sure they'd get fed up if they were left together with the countless litters they could have if left.
Try distracting them with some treats or extra bedding e.t.c?
Nala would probably appreciate a lot of bedding for the pups anyway.

Her bedding is about three inches thick right now. I wanted her to be able to dig a deeper nest.

Awesome, I'm sure she appreciates it
If you want a deep nest she might still want more though, ours will always dig deeper than we expect lol

She paced all night. I saw a big wet spot in her cage under the water bottle, and couldn't figure out why it was leaking...she chewed a hole in it! She has had that water bottle over a month and not bothered it. I think she did it on purpose I replaced it with a much smaller 8 oz water bottle made of glass. It doesn't quite fit in the holder, but I think it will work. She keeps trying to squeeze her head into the gap between the water bottle and the side of the holder ( because the bottle is so much smaller). Frustrating hamster! I'll give her leeway because she is probably pregnant My mom told me to keep a male and female baby if she has one of each sex. She doesn't want the daddy to be lonely. Lol I only wanted two hamsters....

This girl is definitely pregnant. Keeping my fingers crossed that the fall didn't hurt her or the babies and that all will go well when she gives birth.

Haha, I know that feeling. Had the same thing as you and then had 9 hamsters for a while - still have 7 now (2 were re-homed). It's really difficult to let them go...

She looks bigger around the middle today and is quite active even though it's only 2 in the afternoon. I put an igloo in her cage, should I take it out? Or will she be more comfortable with it in the cage? She has not made a nest yet. What are the chances of a first time mom eating her babies? I have read this is more likely to happen with first time moms, but could not find any statistics on how often it happens. I'm hoping she doesn't have a large litter, that way I can keep all the babies

I would personally remove the igloo as it may get a bit stuffy in there when she gives birth Every mom is different, as long as you don't disturb her there shouldn't be any problems with culling. Unless mom feels theres something not right with the babies or she feels unable to cope.

Best of luck x

Its more likely with first time Moms, but a lot of the time they only eat the pups if theres something wrong with them. I don't know the statistics but as long as you don't disturb her or the pups at all until they're older then you should be able to keep the chances as low as possible.
I hope she has a small litter too, although you'll need lots of cage space if you want to keep lots of hamsters. Our lot have taken over most of our bedroom now, more of the space belongs to hamsters than to us lol

Gosh that is one pregnant hamster. Fancy dropping a pregnant hamster! What a horrid employee. I'd really complain if it were me. I hope the babies are OK. Good luck with it, it's good that it's you that has her xx

She looks to be due fairly soon so she should start to nest build. I would ignore her pacing as she will settle when her babies arrive. It is possible to fall could have damaged the pups I'm sorry to say and she may have been upset by the trip out and also the removal of her mate but you will have to see how she fares. Move her somewhere really quiet and let her do her own thing. When she is in the nest all the time you can be fairly sure the pups are here but keep a close eye on her for any sign of problems.
Once the babies are 4 weeks you can keep a daughter with her and introduce a son to dad so they have company
Good luck
