Default The Bertoees :)

Sire: Bert - Mottled Black - aaPpD?
Dam: Chloe - Self Blue - aappD?
Date of mating: September 10 - evening
Due date: September 28 - October 1

Chloe has not come back into heat since the original mating so it is now safe to assume she is pregnant. This litter will produce blacks and is capable of producing blue. Both parents possibly carry argente so dove and red-eyed lilac may pop up as well.
Both parents are friendly and inquisitive. Bert is quite the old man at nearly 19 months old so I am excited about the possible longevity of this litter. Both parents also have fabulous large ears that I just adore And of course, both are diabetes negative and free from neurological disorders. I will be keeping Bert with Chloe through the delivery for one more litter before Bert goes back to his owner and Chloe lives out the rest of her days as a pet.
I will be keeping the pups from this litter and the next for a couple months before deciding who stays and who goes.

I will be taking pictures of her belly at least every couple of days to watch her progress.
Here she is at 8 days pregnant. She has not noticeably gained weight and her nipples are not yet pronounced.

And here is a snapshot of Bert checking out the nest box.

Can you move to Colorado? Then we could have some decent breeders. It'd be great

She's precious, I hope you get argente babies, they are too cute :P

Both parents are homozygous for the black gene, so argente would be impossible
But if both parents carry argente, they could have dove (aapp) offspring. And if both parents carry argente and Bert carries opal, they could produce red-eye lilacs (aappdd)

I am picking up black eyed lilacs and chocolates next week for my breeding program and you have no idea how excited I am to have the opportunity to work with them!

I quite like Tennessee :P Maybe you should take a roadtrip.

Day 10 (almost, they mated late last Saturday night)
Still no sign of coming back into heat.

It might just be me, or the extra mealworms, but her extra skin is filling out. Still not bulging, but smoother than before. I was able to get several good pics, so I'll just show them all.
