The first mink girl went to her new home today. They brought her bin to me for her to travel home with them. We put some old bedding in the new bedding and put some of the "wet" bedding in the potty corner. Snickerdoodle showed no anxiety and explored the new bin for a while before settling down inside the edible hut to sleep.
Snickerdoodle is coming back in July for me to hamster sit.
How great is that? Not only did I find great homes but I also found someone to hamster sit my babies when we go away next year too. We are looking forward to being able to see her again. We will also visit to see her growth progress.
The cowboys go to their new home tomorrow morning and then Lopez and the other girl mink go in the afternoon. All the babies will be in their new homes tomorrow.
We let Sheila have a little outside time this evening. We put up the metal wire playpen in the front yard and brought out the bin. It was easier to transfer her to the pen than putting her in a tube to travel outside. I have not seen her that excited before. She had a great time. We don't spray for weeds in the front yard and are quite a distance from our neighbors. We are over a 1,000 feet away. No pesticides to harm her.
We may take the babies out Sunday if the ground is dry from the rains we are expecting tomorrow.
I will add the last photos of the babies tomorrow to the album.
Thank you all so much for being here with me on this journey. It has been a great experience for us.
