Re: 'is it okay to breed a peabald hamster and normal dwarf hamster
Please don't breed them unless you know their backgrounds. At the moment there is alot of hamsters that are unwanted in rescue centers and im sure some of them are from unwanted or accidental litters. What would be your reason for breeding? It's not as simple as putting two hamsters with each other and possibly mum or pups could die.
Im not being mean, its just my opinions and feel free to correct me if im wrong!

No its not !
And also , you dont even know the backgrounds of your dwarf as you say its a normal dwarf , What does that mean ! ?
As amy said , Why would you want to breed since there are some hamsters in adoption centres as of people who have not thougt breeding through !!!!!

I agree - its not just some fun, game thing you know? Yes there small and people tend to think of them as toys but im sorry but you do not just breed ANY animal without research and a proper reason!

Tbh, it's pointless us responding this way? We've said the same things before and it was ignored,
But yeah.

Re: 'is it okay to breed a peabald hamster and normal dwarf hamster
The other posters have raised valid points. My main query is what species of dwarf hamster do you have? There are four species of hamster referred to as 'dwarf hamsters': Campbell's, Winter Whites, Chinese and roborovski. There are also Campbell's/winter white hybrids, sometimes just called 'Russians'. The hamster you describe as "normal dwarf" could be any of the above except a roborovski (they do not have dorsal stripes). Mating hamsters of different/unknown species can result in serious health problems and deformities as Souffle has already mentioned.
Breeding any animal carries risks to both parents and offspring - during the mating, pregnancy, delivery, rearing and future life (e.g. health problems or problems rehoming them). I strongly believe that responsible breeding aims to reduce these risks as much as possible by selecting animals with care of the same species, of good health and temperament and with sufficient knowledge and resources to support the pairing and all offspring that result.
Also, I may have misunderstood but does your last post mean that the fifteen normals and two 'peabalds' are the offspring of the first pair? If so, I would not recommend breeding such close relations.

Re: 'is it okay to breed a peabald hamster and normal dwarf hamster
You shouldnt even think about breeding you know nothing about breeding them do research on them and Piebalds are just like Dominant Spots and you have to know the genetics etc you certainly dont even know your breeding sorry for sounding harsh but they could also die, the Mom could die durring or after birth
