Default Polaris and babies

im sure some of you will have already seen these photos but i really wanted to share them with my new friends here so:

this is polaris when she was very young... not the most flattering of pictures but you get the idea

she is a long haired satin silver grey syrian and was mated to my lovely Casino (see below)

this is Casino when he was younger and still ickle... he's still smallish compared to his sister who is a monster.

here are the babies

DaDa!!! ok... not the best pics but i didnt want to disturb them.

im really suprised as i have spottys in the litter.. i didnt expect that!
there appears to be a black, some silver greys and another 'yet to be classified' colour... they are big and chunky!

dont worry, i will continue bombarding you with pictures!!
well, iv had a suruptitious peer into the nest and i have two splodgies (probably het silver grey dominant spots) some very definate silver greys, what looks like it might turn out to be a LBJ and some so far undisclosed colours..
i have parentage for Casino - he had chocolate in his line so i guess the LBJ would make sense.
im not so convinced about the dominant spot as niether parents have this in thier line and well... dominant!
there is also a jet black pup in the litter... i just cant wait for them to fur up.. its driving me nuts.. what are they!!

mums parents were a silver grey and a black. i saw info on the mum's mum's line but didnt get much more about the mums dads side... are you still all following.. im not sure i am!

i guess we'l just have to wait and see.
babyboos, so you still have the pedigree for my two.. i kept the email but hotmail had on of its funny turns and its now unreadable... im guessing a virus.. god bless Norton!!

room.. i used to have that once!!
i had a special shed erected at the end of the garden to keep all the animals in and i tell you what.. its a god send!!
i couldnt breed things like mice int he house.. they just stink too much and no amount of cleaning them out will get rid of it.
the shed is a damn site tidier and less packed now than it was in the summer, it was rediculous, i had some many rescues come in and normally i am aware of what i have coming in and can find homes in advance so that they are only hanging about in the shed for a few days to a week. didnt work this summer..
i was let down twice by potential new chinchilla homes (i took in three chinchilla rescues this year) which filled the shed completely beucase thiir cages are so big i couldnt fit them on my shelves and they had to be kept ont he floor.
there wasnt enough room to swing a gerbil, let alone a cat... now there is enough room to swing a small lioness!! its bliss!!

ok... mum is a het silver grey.
she had a het silver grey mum and a black dad. she was bred by another animal care collage.
Dad is a babyboos hamster and hes a silver sable... my computor did crazies a few weeks ago and i lost his paretage information (a virus i think) but if i remember correctly he has sable roan, black banded and chocolate siblings... im sure Morag will corect me if im wrong!

anyhoo.. here are the babies:

showing the splodgie job (could this be a roan? iv never seen a roan pup before to be sure what im looking at... it sure as hell doesnt look like a dominant spot to me! i did wonder if it could be a tort but the male certainly doesnt have yellow in his genes and the female doesnt for several generations at least)

showing a golden at the bottom of the pic

showing a silver grey at the top of the pile having a wash

Showing the black on the right hand side of the pile

that was a bit of a mixed litter!!

i cant wait for them all to fur up properly!
