i really am wondering how people cope with it...lol it's really REALLY tough. i mean, there's absolutely no way i could have given the eight away...i'd be a hysterical nut i can't even bring myself to give each baby their own cage...i have pipsqueak and the girls in with taffy (i think pip is a girl, but pip is soooo tiny *the runt* that i can't tell 4 sure). i have the four boys in a ware critter universe (expanded levels)....i have cages for each hammie to have their own..and YET. it's really something i can't bring myself to do. now the boys are getting along good together and the girls/pip with their mom. how long can they remain like that though? pip IS SO tiny i can't imagine putting pip in a cage alone...she'd get lost.

I would get a 2nd op on Pip to what sex he/she is. you dont want to end up with even more baby hams. Maybe you could post a piccy up and the experniced members on here could help you or take Pip to the vets?

I think they can live with each other up to 8/9 weeks. if im wrong please correct me.

The little ones will be fine on their own once you have split them so do not worry about it. like any new ham you get just give them time to settle in to their new home and not having their brothers/sisters about.

This is a may live together for 8-9 weeks rather than a can live together. If there are squabbles they must be split! The girls will fight sooner from the boys, you really must separate them from Taffy now, it's surprsing she's put up with them for 5 weeks. Females are unlikely to stay happy longer than 8 weeks, males may last longer without fighting, but why risk it? How guilty would you feel if you came home one day and one had injured another because you left them together too long.

Regardless of how sad it makes you feel, you need to do what is right by the animals. If you do choose to run them on a little longer, you must deal with the fact they will have to be alone. You brought them into this world, it is not fair to risk them injuring each other because you are stuck with the idea that they are so cute together and all get on great. It isn't something people normally find difficult: they are solitary animals, all syrians should be bought solo (I assume in buying Nibbles and Taffy you took them away from their siblings).

I know this is a little harsh, but you sound like you need a reality shock.

Yeah i completley agree with internet_nobody; you need to just let go, and let them go to new families and homes. Its hard, i know, i was in bits when my dad made us get rid of my cats litter, i cried for days, but it got easier; and it will

i actually dont hear squabbles, or see them...taffy has taken to sleeping with one baby in the food bowl, taffy lies across the food bowl with one baby in front of the food bowl, one in back of it, and one on taffys back..lol. the two cinnamins sleep together under the water bottle of all places..meanwhile the wooden castle house seems to mostly just occupy pip. LOL

Cinnabon, Niblet, Higley and Squeakers are together in a critter universe (2 level) cage. taffy is in a tank with pipsqueak, and nessie, keebler and persimmon the girls.

ok! i forgot i made this topic hehe *Blushes* well, the girls (all THREE) are in their own cages now Pipsqueak, my little runt, as it turns out is a boy. I've got FIVE boys, holy cow! All boys are in their own cages now too and everyone seems quite happy to be on their own. And taffy seems very relieved My one little bar chewer, Nessie, is in a cage with NO BARS because she was giving me headaches hehe I want to thank you, internet_nobody, for the great big PUSH was just what i needed! as further proof I put taffy in for a second (the night I made this topic) with the boys cuz I was sure they'd missed their mommy, they ALL tried to mate with her. got her out just in time...will NEVER be that misguided EVER ever again!
