I'm so sorry for the hard time your having, litters are always a lot of work and most people don't realise. Maybe you could get someone to take a few off your hands for a bit or even just come round and help or care for some of them while you have a rest or have some you time *hugs* x

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I'm on the east coast and might be able to give you a hand.

....i found out i have glaucoma...and i camer home and was trying to care for the babies...and my dog nipped at me and persimmon jumped outta my hands and took off..under the hutch in the kitchen..as i was lying there trying to coax her out i looked down and noticed a baby chewing at my slipper! i'd kicked the water bottle off of keeblers cage and she'd come over to see what i was doing. so while i was holding her i kept trying to coax persimmon out..finally she came out and nipped me, then went back in, then came back out and i got her. now everyones in their respective cages and fed. and im tired..so tired and my head hurts and i feel like crying all over again im sorry i haven't had time to respond to each of your replys yet but will as soon as i wake back up im sorry

I know you must be feeling shocked and scared at the moment. Now your glaucoma has been diagnosed it can be well managed and closely monitored, so try not to be too scared.

10 hams sounds like far too much for most people to be honest, think of the hours of out of cage time needed each day. Maybe you could rehome some of them, maybe just keeping 2 or 3. Take your time to find them good homes, but think of it as doing the best for them as well as you - if you are tired and stressed you will struggle to give each hamster the love and attention it needs which will make you feel more stressed.

Awww, I'm sorry you've not been well. I think while the hammies are little you should maybe make small steps to re-homing a few to some nice people. Maybe just start by choosing one you'd feel happy to let go under the right circumstances and then see how you feel one or two down? When you get to a managable number you'll know and I'm sure you'll grow stronger bonds with the few you have left and decided to keep than all 10 which even if you gave them half an hour each every night, that is still 5 hours! Good luck! Keep us informed on how your doing chick xxx

Aw, no way! You are completely doing the best for your babies! Just take your time and maybe point the new owners to Hamster Central so you can keep in touch with them on here. Good luck ... I'm sure you'll find the right people

I haven't had anyone interested in my hamster babies Infact i'm one of like three people just in my town posting about hamster babies...but i seem to have gotten more used to it now...it was just a big shock @ first going from 2 to ten practically overnight. when they all went into their own cages it became a lot of work...i've started doing no more then 3 cage cleanouts in one day as i found more then that is just TOO much lol. i did pipsqueak, higley and nessie today ...they seemed excited about clean cages ...higley is very nervous so i try and give him extra hand time hoping he calms down soon..cinnabon had a bloody paw (just a little blood coming from around one claw, it stopped after a few mionutes..i think he caught it on a woodchip)..persimmon rubbed most of the fur off her nose on her wire wheel..so i took that out and she's using nibbles hamtrac racecar to run in now until i can get her a comfort wheel..im thankful taffy didn't give birth to more then eight pups...lol. ...it's SO MUCH work..i had no idea..you just don't realize when you've only got two ...i find myself always holding somebody but it's shocking how much each day there's not one hamster awake! sometimes i find myself lonely because nobody has woken up yet, lol..
