Bubbles suddenly bite me, why?

This morning I got bitten by Bubbles,so odd since Bubbles never does this unless My hand smells tasty.
I handled other hamster first (my teacher's hamster are here for the weekend), then I play with Bubbles like every morning. She knows I'll be around every morning for treats. I pick her out from the cage and no problem. Played with her on the sofa, climb around me, sat on my hands and no problems.
Then want to put her back while still sitting on my hand, went down but then still wanted to go out so I get her out again not for long. Then put her back by the same way, while still sitting on my hand.
BUT instead going down from my hand, she bit my fingers (quite hurt not bleeding), then I just put her down and put my right hand inside and she bit me too, almost bleed but lucky not.
Still can feel the bites until now.

I wonder why? Ever happen to anyone before? Usually she so calm and nice.

maybe you smelt of the other hamster?
Otherwise she could have pain somewhere which caused her to be sensitive and bite?

yeah...she could probably smell the other hamsters. or maybe she was only grumpy...

Probably just grumpy. Sometimes they really surprise us with this biting stuff. It can happen even with the calmest hamster i think...

yh, they defnitley have grumpy days, peggy will be really nice one day, then mega nasty teh next

But is there any reason why become so grumpy?Was nice before I put her back. If she's being grumpy, shouldn't she just bit me before I try to pick her up?

No they can have moods just like us!! Sometimes they just dont want to be handled at that particular time or something - I think she was probably a bit unsettled due to the other hamster.

Female hamsters also can have mood changes when they are in season!
Eg. hyperactive, stressed
i know my friends rabbit gets PMT so why not hamsters
