Scared hamster
I had some old glue traps in the laundry room forgot to toss them my hamster escaped his cage and got stuck in one. I put some oil on him and was able to get him out but he bled a lot and his fur took a while to heal. Now he’s super scared of everything I used to pick him up with my bare hands now if I try that he runs or squeaks. So I have to let him climb on a toy and then put him on my hand. How do I get him to not be so scared. His literally scared of everything now I can hold him but it’s doesn’t feel the same he also nibble here and there now. PLEASE HELP. I’m new with hamsters don’t know much.

Re: Scared hamster
That sounds awful for your poor hamster.
It's not surprising he is scared so it may take quite some time for you to regain his trust. Make sure he's not in any pain still and don't handle till he is fully healed. If anything seems amiss a vet check is needed.
Start as if he was a new hamster again with gentle talking and feeding treats before attempting to hold him. Get him out using a cup or tube and carry him to a safe place where he can walk out safely and explore you in his own time. Transfer back using the tube or cup and keep sessions short at first.
