Hamster keeps licking my chest

My Syrian hamster Chintu keeps licking my chest. We had another female hamster at home so I thought that he was reacting to her scent but that’s not the case. He’s in a daze and keep staring at something. Recently he is also scratching himself and has wounds all over him. We went to the doctor and they prescribed a dusting powder but it’s of no use. What could be the reason ? Please help!!

What type of hamster is he. It sounds like there is something very wrong and if he is covered in wounds there must be something causing it. I would try and find another vet to check him out. The licking could be a neurological thing or a distraction technique to help relieve pain. You need to find an exotics vet who has experience with hamsters.
Make sure there are no ants or other insects near the cage and that you keep the two hamsters will apart and observe strict hygiene between handling them.

We went to a vet… they just gave him a dusting powder… There aren’t a lot of ppl who own hamsters in my city so most vets we ask havent even seen a hamster… We separated the hamsters weeks ago but if we touch one and touch other they know cuz we let them on our clothes and floor ( with supervision). The male hamster ( Chintu) licks my dress… first I thought it was because of our other female hamster but she died and he is continuing his habit. It’s concerning.
