Btw, i'd ditch the balls and get a secure playpen where they can go for out of cage time but strictly separately.
Balls are so stressful for hamsters, they run trying to get out.

Agree. Also they shouldn’t meet again, even in balls. It would increase stress having any contact again now (we can’t see the stress sometimes) and stress leads to health issues.
