Some robos really don't like human interaction. Some consider them a watch and don't touch hamster. That doesn't mean that you can't try. My friendliest and cuddliest hamster has been a robo!
Best thing is don't rush. Find something he really likes, mine was a sucker for pumpkin seeds (out of shell). Place your hand flat, wait a bit. If he doesn't come to you. Just take the food and leave it where your hand was. Repeat. Eventually he'll associate you with food.
Another thing is to keep some tissue in your pockets. Keep it in there all day. Your scent will transfer onto the tissue. Put this in the cage. If it gets peed on or gets gross in general replace with a fresh piece that has your scent on it.
