How can I tell if my dwarf ham is in heat?
Hey everyone, my female Russian dwarf should be of breeding age soon and I was wondering if there are any specific signs I can use to identify when she's in heat. I'm NOT looking to breed her, I just know they can go through mood/behavioral changes. I can find a lot of info online about Syrian heat behaviors but nothing much of dwarves. I heard that they don't really do the typical "presenting" post or smell quite as bad, so it's hard to tell.

Re: How can I tell if my dwarf ham is in heat?
Generally they’ll just be a little more active than usual and will need more attention and out of cage time. They do usually smell a little stronger when theyre in heat but it varies hamster to hamster really. I’ve found that sometimes their scent gland gets a bit sticky too but again it depends on the hamster
