Human breath
Strange one but only had Maisy a week but she seems to hate my breath when I get up close and talk to her. Now my partner assures me i dont have bad breath but then hamsters obviously have very sensitive noses.
Not had this with any previous hamsters, just a case of getting used to my breath I hope?

Re: Human breath
My guess is it's less about the smell and more about personal space. Also air being blown on their face (inadvertently from talking) is universally not enjoyed by hamsters
Since you've only had her for a week, you need to give her longer to be completely tame.

Re: Human breath
Maybe she thinks you're going to eat her
