Cage changes
Hi. Serendipity - I took on board your suggestions about my Barney cage set up. Does this look better? (I didnt want to keep hijacking Cream Puffs thread ☺). Thanks all the help. Much appreciated. Hopefully she'll stop chewing the bars now.

Re: Serendipity7000
Yes that looks much better I can't see the water bottle? Can your hammy actually get up to the pink shelf on the right?

Re: Serendipity7000
The water bottle is still on the steps but I've moved ot a bit higher.
There is a house under the pink shelf and the pink shelf has a hole so she can easily climb onto the house below and then through the hole.

What a good looking set up. Whats that funny ball on the top?!
I like the way you have the extra shelves, luckybhamster.

That's just a hamster ball on a stand. Need to get a bigger ball though and obviously it doesnt sit on tio of the cage when she goes in it, it goes on the floor

Re: Serendipity7000
It does look nice Access is something they can be funny about so although she can get up through the hike, another access route might help as well so she doesn’t get frustrated. Not sure if this appeals but one thing I did one was tie a large rat tunnel to the roof to run from one shelf to the other. Either diagonally or along the front possible.

Re: Serendipity7000
That should say "hole" not "hike"! Hope your hammy settles down. The changes may distract her if she explores and approves, and hiding some treats. Hope she stops bar chewing. Sometimes changes make them a bit more stressed but often, if they approve, you can tell!
