Bar chewing at the morning
Hi!
My little friend Ricky found a perfect way to wake me up every morning, he is chewing the bar at 10:00 - 10:30. I noticed that he is doing that only if I am sleeping in the same room, because I moved him one day and he didn't do anything.
Of course I closed every bar that he can chew with cardboard, but he found a little tinny bar to chew. I put a bridge in front of it, but he managed to reach the bar. What can I do? I think he wants to wake me up, because if I rub him in the belly he will stop and go to sleep.
What should I do? Move him to another room?

Re: Bar chewing at the morning
Hello and Welcome to Hamster Central.
Some hamsters bar chew as a way of attention seeking - so I know it can be difficult it is best to ignore this behavior as giving him attention can make the bar chewing more addictive as they know that they will get attention for doing it.
Moving cage to another room might help stop the behavior however you won't know for certain if this stop his bar chewing.
So I would continue blocking of the area he is chewing and see if he loses interest.
