Question Hamster entombing itself????

Hammy has one of these wooden houses in her cage that she sleeps in. She stuffs the upper tunnel (on the roof) after every cage cleanout. I went in tonight & she'd also stuffed the main entrance solid - with herself inside it!!

What's that all about and, most importantly, would she have been able to dig herself out? I panicked & lifted the lid & got her out that way.

It has been quite chilly and they adjust the nest depending on the temperature. She will be fine but if you are worried just tease some of the bedding out of the entrance and roof!
