Default What are your hamsters weird and wonderful quirks?

Hey guys,

So i was just curious and was interested in hearing if any of you have a hamster with weird and silly quirks?
My syrian, Bella, repeatedly hits your face with her paw. I believe this to be a sign of affection as she does it whenever you give her her favourite treat!
Leave your hamsters quirks below so we can all hear about the weird things our hams do!

My hamster Mose has recently been on a kick of putting her food in her wheel. She has a wodent wheel and she even tries to put her whimzee chew through the holes. She will then proceed to run on the wheel with all her food and make quite the raucous. If you remove it she will just put it right back in. It can be annoying at times but it's also pretty funny!

Here's one of the things Gaby does to get me to pick her up. Watch carefully from 0:19 onwards.

My old hamster (Blossom) used to do something similar but that was in her older ages when she no longer used her wheel

My hamster, Tofu, loves climbing the bars. She will walk up, along and then straight down the bars. I haven't seen hamsters actually walk back down the bars before.

Crumpet, my old hamster, went through a phase of chucking things out of his cage. I gave him a piece of food but he didn't want it so he walked to the edge of the cage and threw it out. I picked it back up and gave it to him again and he chucked it out again.
He would also pick up his poop go to the edge of the cage and throw it out. And at one point he would put all his poop in one corner.
Hamsters are so cute and amusing.

Yes, that they are. My old hamster, Blossom, constantly moved around her cage using the bars. She also used to kick all of her sawdust out of the cage, a bit like Crumpet.

I don't know if this is a quirk or not but... Toria squeaks when using her sand bath well only if I touched her or handled her. If not then she just uses the sand bath regularly.

I'll try and post a video of what I mean.

My WW Thistle (RIP) LOVED to crawl underneath my dad's beard. And she would stay there until you moved her (to which she would respond with an indignant chirp).

That's adorable and makes me wish I could grow a beard!

Harvey's thing is flipping his food bowl. He burrows partly underneath it and then tips it over. I used to think he was looking for better food underneath, then I thought it was a form of protest when it wasn't freshly filled.
Now I think he's just being a butt.
I love him so much <3

Blossom did exactly the same thing. I think she used it as shelter
