Default Ares back to his old habits

Today I was spending time w Ares, he suddenly bit me on the stomach painfully! So I tried a different approach, I put him back in the cage and sang to him for a few minutes to calm him down. Did I do the right thing?

Default Re: Ares back to his old habits

Sorry to hear you were bitten! It sounds like he may not be comfortable being on you quite yet, hence why he may have suddenly bitten. Another thing to remember is that hamsters nibble and use their mouths to explore things, so it may be possible he was just checking things out, and the bite was just an innocuous exploratory nibble. Make sure in these situations, to stay calm, and slowly put him back. The singing likely didn't have much of an effect on him, but as long as it didn't scare him, I wouldn't worry about it. Best wishes xx
