Default Drinking a lot?

Okay, so recently my little ham has been drinking more water than usual (not biting the spout, proper drinking) and I heard that if they drink too much it's bad for them. Like, she's drinking constantly just a bit more than normal.

Is she okay?

Have you checked the bottle is working ok & measured how much she actually drinks? It maybe less than you think.
Sometimes it can be hard to judge just how much they drink, while ingesting too much water from chewing the bottle is bad for them drinking too much is a different matter & if she is actually drinking a lot it could be a sign that something is wrong, possibly a UTI or kidney problem.
I saw your other post about sleeping at night & while that may just be natural behaviour, most active at dawn & dusk if she is less active then that can also be a sign that something's not right.

Rayven do you think your water bottle might be too low, it should be the right height for them to drink comfortably standing up so if she can drink from it lying down it might be worth making it a bit higher & see if she drinks normally.

The bottle is at the right height Bonnie has moved bedding and wood shavings underneath, I keep moving it but as soon as she comes out puts it back again I thought about moving the bottle somewhere else but will this upset her bearings ??

I'd take no chances and consult a competent exotic vet. Even if you don't take your hamster to the vet, at least discuss the change in water consumption.

I hope it's no major problem for her.

She is active during the night but it was just at 4 am which I found a bit odd. She's still very active as I've woken up to her cage being a mess from her digging around in it. Her bottle has been up for about a week and she's drunk half of it, is that okay or the sign of something wrong?

What species of hamster do you have? If you have a hybrid dwarf, excessive drinking could be a symptom of diabetes. Is she/ he peeing alot as well? I'd assume so

How big is your bottle Goldenstar? They drink maybe a teaspoonful or about 5ml a day, not much more than that.
You do need to change the water daily btw.
