Default new cage, fighting,please advise

hi guys.i have two dwarf hamsters from the same litter.i got them 4 days ago.today i got them new big 3 story cage, cause the other was small.to move all their stuff i put them in their balls for bout 12 mins while moving all their stuff.after putting them one by one into the new cage they were very agressive towards eachother and had a few fights.but has calmed down a little now.the one also ran alot on his wheel and then he just sat in one of the pipes very still for long.he then again runs and sit.is this normal,do i need to do something.
it seems that the fighting has gone away a bit.they just squuek when they pass eachother in a pipe now,or if they run into eachother.is that normal.one does not run to the other with the purpose to fight it seems, also how do u tell the dfference between play and real fighting.is it normal for one of them to build the nest?i know its lots of questions.thanks again
please help asap.

i was advised a while ago not to put a pair of dwarfs in a multistory cage. They can become territorial over the levels and that will cause fighting.

They were probably scared when you first put them in the cage making them slightly more aggressive. If they didn't fight in the old cage i would put them back in there until you can get a large open one level something like a gabber rex, or perhaps a bin cage as they are cheap...

Just watch out for excessive squeaking and any wounds, if this does happen you will need to separate them, or i put a divided in the cage so when things calm down i try and see if they can live together again.
Hope it works out!

My dwarfs have a few squabbles now and again but nothing serious. i found that when i took out one of the wheels they were fighting and Bibi got a nasty wound on her rear, but all is healed and well again now i put the wheel back in.

Make sure you have 2 of everything, 2 wheels, 2 shelters, and not using a food bowl and just placing the food in a pile might help if you think one hamster dominates it more than the other

and yes, building nests is what hamsters do best! its perfectly natural behaviour

hope this kinda helped lol

hey guys, thanks for all the advice, they are winter whites.
they seemed to have gotten alot better,
the dominant one has just started going white now.
Luckily i got two of everything in the cage, exept an house, they really love to sleep and snuggle in it together it seems.
so fingers crossed.
