So I woke up around 8:00 and heard squeaking noises coming from my hamster cage. I went to take a look and my hamster (female campbell, still young, got her last monday) was constantly squeaking and sometimes twitching up and down. She's sitting in a corner she normally doesn't sit it now, still squeaking. What could this be?
I can't tell if there's any nasal discharge since she's hiding in a corner and still not very familiar to my hand.

Re: Squeaking and Twitching
It does sound as if something has upset of hurt her.
I'd try and get her out for a check. If you have a small jam jar that is clear try getting her to go in it so you can have a look for anything that looks wrong like blood / dicharge / wet underside / cuts / teeth etc as best you can.
Sometimes they can see something and take quite a fright at it. She may have been bar chewing and twanged her teeth or bitten her tongue.
If she still isn't right after a few hours quiet then she may need a vet visit and examination. Hope she calms soon and lets you check her out.
Everything was fine in the end!
She had a little trouble with some food she had in her pouch, but nothing's wrong with her. She's still getting used to her new home too.
I'm leaving her alone for the rest of the day so she can recover a bit.
