Default Competing for one wheel

I just got a bonded pair of Robos. I've never had robos before so I've never had two hams in the same cage. I bought two "silent" wheels because they seemed to have trouble with the large flying saucer. Anyway, the wheels are identical. .. yet they keep competing for one and won't touch the other one.

Being a new Robo owner I don't know what to do. I know they both need to run. What do I do?

Do they do anything else that shows aggression? If so,separate them immediately. Keep an eye on them for now,but this is kind of a bad thing to happen with pairs of robos since it is territorial and territorial behaviors are completely natural however they can quickly lead to aggression and fighting which ends up making the hamsters have to be split up.

That sounds quite normal to me, I think they're a bit like kids, both want what the other has!
You can't do a lot about it really, as long as they don't begin to actually fight over it leave them to see if they sort it out themselves.

When my two lived together they used to go on one wheel at the same time!

They now live separately after squeeks and wrestling. They are sisters from a breeder.

What cage do you have for them? Mine are in barred cages, one in the alaska and one just moved into the elmo cage from Germany. Like a short barney cage.

Right now they're in a big bin cage with a mezzanine. It was the biggest bin at the store. I'm in the process of making a second, which I will attach with tubes. They have ample space.

You can't use tubes with a pair as one of them could block the other from accessing the other area of the cage

I'd forget the tubes, not a good idea with a pair of dwarfs. The same goes for levels/shelfs -it's best to have a one level home with 2 of everything.

A water bottle and food in each side of the cage would be advisable. This way one can't easily stop the other from getting food or water

No levels, shelves, etc or anything anywhere near that concept for a pair no matter what you may have seen!I've seen people elsewhere saying they had it work but that is just not how it works with the majority of pairs. It is never worth the risk

Along the same lines though, definitely have a single floor cage with absolutely no tubes unless you're extremely lucky and find some with four entrances.I think I've seen something like that before, but not too sure.

All the obvious things that have been stated are true of course and should be followed exactly. No exceptions! If all else fails and you can't have just one level, get another cage and just separate them or you will most definitely run into some trouble.
