Default Bulma(syrian) bit me, possibly an accident?

Ok, so I have been encouraging my SO to spend more time with Bulma, and he has happily complied. This morning when I woke up he had her happily begging for treats from him and standing on top of her walk up barn to be petted. So of course I joined in. Together we got her comfortably standing in my open palm. After a bit she wandered off, so my SO tempted her back towards my hand with a sunflower seed(excellent bait as we don't give them to her very much) and the seed grazed my finger as he moved by my hand. Well, when Bulma came along following, she bit down on my finger as if she was grabbing a treat. I was so startled I jerked away and startled her, big mistake I know, but after a minute of talking gently and rewarding her for coming back to us she seems fine.

So I guess the question is, was it an accident because the seed touched my finger first, or was she biting with intent? Or did she mistake my finger for some other nibble? It did draw blood, so that's why I'm unsure as to how hard she was biting, and for what reason. Only her bottom teeth pierced my skin though, it's just a tiny little crescent shaped cut, which I immediately washed after we calmed her down.

I'd say she made a mistake, that your hand smelled of food and she didn't even realise it wasn't the treat! Hamsters don't have great eyesight, so if it smells tasty to a hamster that's usually enough for them to give it a nibble. It also sounds like she was overeager for the treat so was a bit less careful than she might otherwise have been!

That's what we figured might have happened, she was very excited for the treats and it really looked like she just got carried away. Because she has had an exploratory nibble at my hand before, but I saw it coming and gently moved away and 'tsked' her, which is a little disapproving noise I make with all of my animals when they do something that they aren't supposed to. For example when my mice start to nibble on my fingers I tsk and move away. When they do good behaviours they are rewarded and they get a smooch sound.
