Dwarf hamster suddenly biting me and chewing bars

Hi everyone, I have a dwarf hamster Alabama she is a year and five months old. She's always been very friendly and sociable, but in the last few weeks she has starting biting and chewing everything. She has always given us a wee nibble when out if she wanted back in her cage, but she has started chewing her bars and as soon as she's out of her cage she bites our hands and chews everything she comes into contact with-clothes, furniture etc. I've bought her new chew toys and I always alternate the ones she has so I don't think she's bored. Her behaviour otherwise is fine, eating and drinking fine and running around like crazy! Is it maybe just her age? Any advice greatly appreciated! 😊

I wouldn't expect that kind of change due to age, they normally tend to slow down & get more docile with age rather than the other way around, the behaviour you describe would usually indicate that, unless something else has happened or changed to stress her, she is unwell or in pain.
Does she drink & pee more than normal? Sometimes if they have diabetes & blood sugar level fluctuations it can cause this kind of biting behaviour.
