Hamster behavior while escaping..
My hamster had escaped her cage, this was my fault that the door was left off... Anyway my hamster went up the stairs to my bedroom, and did this twice! (cage has many doors I didnt notice this one til the 2nd escape) Has anyone seen anything like this before?
It's almost like the hamster knew where i was and came directly to me....?

Re: Hamster behavior while escaping..
I've not had this experience myself but I've often seen it posted in forums that people woke up to find their escaped hamster had sought them out. They do leave themselves scent trails so if it's a route you let her take during playtime maybe she followed that. Best secure the cage though in case the next time your ham escapes they decide to go elsewhere!

Re: Hamster behavior while escaping..
Very lucky that your ham decided she wanted to be easily found and put back to bed! I have heard of people waking up to find their hams beside them but many more stories of hams being lost under floors, in the walls or inside the sofa!

Mine had done the same, made his way to my bed and just sat by it until I scooped him up.
