Default Diabetes in Syrians?

Was watching ErinsAnimals very informative video on hamster diabetes, although dwarves are more prone to it would I be right in thinking it also occurs in syrians?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmIYwjhZ97Q

One of the symptoms was regular drinking/peeing- I often witness my hamster doing these actions and was wondering what's considered 'normal' ? How much does a healthy hamster drink/pee ?

Thought i'd ask to be safe and for future reference!

Default Re: Diabetes in Syrians?

Syrians can get diabetes but aren't especially prone to it & it is fairly uncommon.
I'm not sure what the average ham water consumption should be but it's not much, you should be seeing a healthy ham drink & pee regularly so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with your ham.
When they have diabetes though you really know somethings wrong, it almost seems like they constantly drink & pee & the pee often has a different smell, the only way to know for sure is to test the urine.
