Sleeping more than usual
Bear's been sleeping more than usual lately.
Usually he'd be up and about by 7pm and still going when I go to bed, but lately I've been having to wake him up at about 8 just to make sure he's OK. When I do that he'll come out, have a bit of food then take himself back to bed and then I won't see him again.
He seems fine in himself and physically - he's put on a bit of weight (have been trying to feed him up a bit since I nearly lost him to torpor), if not more jumpy than usual and more reluctant to be held.
His cage is in a warm place and he now has loads of extra bedding so I'm sure he's not cold. Could it be that he's sleeping more because it's winter? Or could he be on his way out? He's around 10 months old.

Re: Sleeping more than usual
My guy seems to be sleeping a lot, although as he's only 8 weeks old then I'm not yet sure what 'usual' is for him.
He seems to be gaining in confidence and coming out a bit more but he still likes the comfort and security of his nest.

Re: Sleeping more than usual
Even when the room is warm they do sleep more in winter so it probably is that, after the recent episode & given that there do seem to be some small behavioural changes I would keep a close eye on him to be sure there isn't anything else going on all the same.

Re: Sleeping more than usual
Woodstock (white fluffy syrian) is sleeping LOADS atm. He is 1 and a quarter. He goes slowly round his cage picking up food then stashes it all and sleeps til night time.
Plays on his wheel a lot still.
Glad Bear has extra bedding. As Cypher suggests, keep an eye on him. Keep us updated.

Re: Sleeping more than usual
I hardly see my Syrian rescue hamster, I've had him three months now and he seems to sleep all the time, when I put his food in he pops his nose out of his hide out, comes out sometimes but more often than not stays put.
