Default Why does she do this?

Buffy has never been a people hamster and really doesn't enjoy being held, so getting Angel has been a bit of a shock to me, she runs from the other side of the cage as soon as she hears the door being opened and she climbs into my hand, when I do put her back in she seems like she still wants to be out and I almost have to slam it closed to keep her in, she also wants me to put her down and constantly tries to walk off me and sit near me on or go off and explore the sofa etc, but having 4 cats it just isn't safe to let her have a walk on her own, She does go out in her ball and she loves that but is this normal hamster behaviour, also what does it mean when she sits up on her back legs, puts her ears forward and almost waves at you with her front feet cos she always does that when I talk to her. She is an adopted/rescue hamster from pets at home so I don't know her past history but is it normal for a hamster to be so people orientated and is she unhappy being in her cage?.

I wouldn't be able to say as i'm not an expert but I don't think it's anything you should worry about.
Who knows, maybe she just enjoys a conversation with you (:

The first time my dwarf hamster got out of his cage by himself (realized its open) he was really dramatic and hyperactive. Then he ran into his house...i closed the cage and then he went all mad with running, biting, digging everywhere around the cage and trying to get out. I was really unhappy to watch him go all crazy like that, but on the other side i dont know if he is not maybe doing the same thing around 5am when i hear his wheel but just cant be able to wake up and watch him...
Anyway i think that your hamster recognizes you and that is great. Also i think they just love exploring so when he realized that sometimes he gets food and sometimes he gets walks when youre around...well he sure wants to get your attention now If he has toys and space in his cage i wouldnt worry that much and just play with him as often as i can.... but im just a beginner sorry

He was probably really excited about the fact that theres a big world outside of his cage (:

Thanks for your opinions I'm just glad she isn't unhappy with her cage and that she seems to want to be with me.
