Syrians together in the same room?

Hi everyone,

i have a Syrian called Noah at the moment, who is 5 months old and lives in a cage in the living room (i got a one bedroom flat). I am thinking about getting another little male Syrian, obviously with his own cage, would there be a problem with him also being in the living room? Possibly, the cages would be about half a meter apart from each other, but in case that is no good the other cage could also be at the other end of the living room. (Both are wire cages, Noah is in the Hamster Heaven cage at the moment and the other one would have a wire cage too.)

Any input would be really appreciated!

I have always had my Syrians right next door with no issues, they can't touch though. I guess it might be more difficult with male and female...

I have all mine in the same space and they're fine. If you go to a big breeders hamsteries they may have over 50 in one room! So I think you'll be fine. Make sure you quarenteen the new chap for a bit and obv they'll be sniffing alot at the new smells. I had a talkative dominant spot - Xabi who used to do a kind of huff squeck at the others and they'd all look up. No-one has been that interactive since.
